Message from the Archives Committee
The Archives Committee recently reactivated the Past President Interview Project – an oral history project initiated in the mid 1990’s by Grace Erikson and continued by Janna Dieckmann and Rosemary Chaudry. The project captures the rich history and contributions of ACHNE’s Past Presidents to education and community/public/population health nursing, as well as records their perspectives of ACHNE’s development and progression both as a member and during their term as President. Only 11 (50%) of ACHNE’s Past Presidents have been interviewed and those transcripts are housed at the Barbara Bates Center for the Study of the History of Nursing at UPENN where nursing researchers can access.
If you or a student are interested in the oral history process, we welcome your participation in the project! We are in a critical time to capture ACHNE’s contributions to education and community/public/population health nursing: the Past President interviews are one avenue to accomplish this. The interviews follow an interview guide and are streamlined using Zoom transcription process. Please contact Pam Levin if you are interested and/or have questions.
